Autobox removal

Perhaps a simple question, is the removal of an auto box the same process as that of a manual one (aside from the clutch lines and the loom connectors)? Are there any extra things that need to be considered? Any fluid leaks to watch for and so forth?

Straight forward buddy. Just remove the plate at the bottom of the bell housing and turn the crank to reveal the bolts that hold the torque converter to the drive plate. There will be fluid from the gearbox oil lines and the back of the gearbox (I think...) but once it's drained, leakages will be minimal.

If you're refitting the autobox, make sure the torque converter locates on the splined shaft correctly. Usually they "clunk" TWICE into position. If it's not seated correctly, the box won't sit right, it'll pump fluid everywhere and damage stuff.
