Swampy442
I cannot believe after the amount of threads on here related to crank pulley failure, why this still happens. People, check and change your pulleys, don't spend a grand on wheels or some naff body kit, get a new pulley!
Abz
I still can't get my head around how the belt jumped from the outer ring when it separated to then land on the crank again Exactly the same thing happened to me!! It happened in the middle of the night and I was about 1.5 miles from home so carried on driving home slowly as I couldn't work out what happened apart from losing power steering. Imagine my horror when I saw the crank pulley on the engine tray and belt intact like you

Guest Patrick94TT
I had the same thing happen to me back in 2007. It scared the hell out of me!
Slam
You can use a long wrench, support the wrench real good and snap the starter to loosen the bolt. Like in this video! Has anyone tired doing it like in this video .
skippyboyo1
Hahaha I had this exact thing happen to me years ago! These cars are showing there age bless Um
skippyboyo1
The mechanic who did mine, but a socket on the nut using a crack bar and then fired the car up. Came straight off.
Stevo
Don't forget, once the bolt is out you're going to need a way to get the leftover part of the pulley off the crank. Would be best (easiest) done with a puller.
makri
Has anyone tired doing it like in this video . Yes I have done it. Works like a charm, but support the wrench real good so it don't come flying around and hit something Maybe wrench is the wrong word for the took as my english is way off, the tool I used is the same as in the video with a socket on it

AndyJax
Alot of Guys use Tipex to mark the front of the pulley so you can see when the outer ring starts to move and replace it before it flys off ! Usually buying second hand is false economy you re swapping an old part for another old part when the rubber has started to perish, I bought a genuine one off Ebay USA £125 including custom charges and delivery.
