paulj1
Hi any one have an idiot's step by step guide to change the rear speakers in an 96 rz? I want to do mine before driving down to The Falcon on Sunday week. Cheers Paul
Dim Sum
Just upgrading it and it be simple. Take cover off, unscrew three or four screws and unplug the two pins. Done
Abz
Pretty much exactly as Dim Sum mentioned, the cover is very easy to take off with a butter knife or flat head. Then I remember mine had 4 screws and the usual two wires. Once you take off the cover you'll have a better understanding

Abz
Refit using a rolling pin maybe? I like to use the first thing that catches my eye and it was the butter knife on the way out... with butter still on

ripped_fear
Brilliant cheers guys also is it 17 cm ones in the back and do they have to be shallow speakers or just normal ones? I have 17.5's in mine and they are not shallow, they fitted straight in, the only thing that may vary is if you have the oem GZ rear speaker pods. brom86
I have briefly attempted to remove my rear speakers but it's too wet and dark to keep trying. I have removed the 4 screws from the drivers rear speaker but the speak isn't moving at all. It's like stuck. Do I need to give it a real good pull or do anything else? There is a bit of glue holding it in place. Just pry it off and all will be fine
keron
you will need a flathead screwdriver (or crowbar!!!) or something to pry it off.... they are held on very very well!
ripped_fear
As above they have a glue on them too, then require a fair bit of force. I destroyed my speakers getting them out, bent a fair bit, but luckily they were destined for the bin anyway.
