just removed mine - is it meant to be stiff as f*ck to operate? ive put it in boiling hot water and it does absolutely nothing.. so i think im right in assuming this is why im having erratic heating issues?

also, does anyone have the thermostat and o-ring that i could buy? or know where i can get one? need it asap!

thanks guys

Yes, they're supposed to be stiff but if it's not opening when it's in boiling water then it's had it.

Most motor factors should have one - just make sure they give you the correct one (a lot of times they've bought mk3 stats to the counter and I've had to correct them!)

Euro car parts have always supplied mine - £4.56 at the moment :)
