trebor69
I will be needing one of these soon and just wondered how available they are (used) .....or if I will need to start searching early? What kind of money do they fetch?
masterfett
Well I have been looking for a while. I'd buy new or second hand aftermarket most OEM stuff you will find second hand I don't think is worth the cost.. Bare on mind the age of the cars now
LOGIE
My advice would be see if mr Chris Wilson will do another group buy on his smics. They are truely excellent quality and will last longer than the car probably. A tad expensive but defo worth the money. I managed to get one second hand thanks to SPG. Josh
I got a CW one second hand too, which was a good buy I gave my oem SMIC away to help a project as it was completely knackered!
Dnk
Most if not all original smic's will be scrap, there all 12 - 20 years old now ! The fins on mine at 12 years old crumbled to dust when touched. You could try Ready Rads in B'ham http://www.readyrads.co.uk, i've had radiators done by them and always had a top job done Edited August 9, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)

supraGZaerotop
Whifbitz do and oem upgrade £400 looks really good. But i have a low mileage oem in the loft, waiting to go on the car , they are about, you pick up a nice condition oem cooler. I paid £80 because no one wanted it at the time , got to be £150-200 all day long, done 45-50k Didint look this good when i bought it, but i must have 2 maybe 3 hours on it, straightening fins, give a very light coat of paint and cleaning / flushing it through to get all the oil crap out of it Edited August 9, 2014 by supraGZaerotop (see edit history)
MattP
My low mileage 98 TT that came into the uk last year had a smic ghat looked fine but powdered when touched so I fitted a new Whifbitz smic I would strongly advise the Chris Wilson unit over whifbitz though.
