Guest Suprem3x
Hi all, I'm pretty new here and I'm planning on buying myself a '94, N/A Supra "aero top" Auto in the next few days and was wondering if anyone could tell me how I check whether it's an import and what are the birth defects or known issues of these cars, what should I look out for?. Are there many differences between UK & import cars & should imports be avoided? Is insurance vastly greater if it's an import? Any advice would be gratefully received as I really don't want to make a mistake in buying the wrong car, as I've waited a long time to get one of these Looking forward to becoming an active member of this Forum Cheers
mattdavies
Hi If you have a search for a buying guide then you will find one. I believe they are on the home page and in the FAQ section on the forum
Fitz
If its an N/A Supra, its Imported. If its an Aero most likely (unless converted) its an N/A which is Imported
Wez
If its an N/A Supra, its Imported. the NA was never sold to UK market
Guest Suprem3x
Thanks for the advice guys, I finally managed to find the "buying guide" on here & it helped a lot. Sorry for asking a dumb question, but I'm not mechanically minded, do these cars have timing belts that need changing like a lot of cars do these days? cheers & thanks again
Dnk
All aerotops are imports whether they are na, tt or single turbo and yes they have timing belts, timing belt change is pretty straight forward and not really expensive to do
