hogmaw
I've just gone from 10.5 at the rear to 11.5 and my mpg has plummeted. Is this normal? I used to get about 260 miles from a full tank (TT BPU) and now I'm lucky to get 220. I thought 260 was bad enough but 220 is just daft. johnny g
More rubber, more reisstance, more effort needed, more fuel. Didn't think it'd be that much. Maybe something is amiss?
Abz
Is that all local stop start miles? Recently on a trip to Belgium with my family I managed 380miles to one tank of fuel. This was with me taking it easy & mostly dual carriageway/motorway driving over 3 days which included a lot of starting the car and some local driving. Mine is a TT6 (previous NA6). So 220 seems very low. Have the 02 sensors been cleaned? Are you running rich perhaps? If you are driving leaded footed everywhere then that is expected as you'd know having her for nearly 10 years
Alex
220 does seem low. But if you've been booting it inadvertently to test your extra grip that could account for it.
Gaz6002
Something definitely amiss there. My single was significantly better on fuel than that over a given period of time of mixed driving.

Hassan
70 litres:) 10liters must be reserve then. I filled it up from empty and i only got 60 liters in it.
Abz
10liters must be reserve then. I filled it up from empty and i only got 60 liters in it. Yep I think that includes the reserve. I just know the JSpec's have a 70L tank whilst the UK's have a 80L tank.
Dnk
Made no difference on my car with 10x19 fronts and 11.5x19 rears
hogmaw
Yeh I'll get the sensor checked next time it's in the garage. I was expecting less mpg but not that much! Also I have recently gone auto to 6 speed, but for that I would have thought I'd get better mpg not worse. Oh and yes I might have been driving a bit harder now I've got a different set up, just to check things out like

Rob W
I get about 220-240 out of a tank, I thought it was low so bought an new O2 sensor from Toyota which made absolutely no difference. It is what it is!
Fizzy T
If you're getting bad mpg and it's been like that for a while it might be best to check your cam timing, mine was well out when I picked up my Supra and a cam belt change and the correct timing settings sorted it right out.
