ripped_fear
Hi all About to have my new Rocker covers and my NA plenum, Y-pipe, and throttle body fitted. I bought new gaskets for it all from Toyota at the weekend my question is do you need to put any sort of sealant on the gaskets for either the intake or the rocker gaskets? Or do you simply put them in place and tighten up. Thanks Jake
Stevo
No sealant needed for either mate. Just tighten them up to the recommended torque settings - from what I remember, the rocker covers are canny low, something like 5nm!
Dnk
Apologies its 5.5 nm for the cam cover bolts according to the wsm pdf Edited July 29, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)

Stevo
Sometimes a good bet for torque that low is a cyclist's torque wrench Jake - plenty available on ebay. Just bang 5.5 nm into the search

Timlowthian
I changed all Nat's over Jake as she her's was leaking! I'd definitely do it yourself, its not that bad at all just time consuming to strip the intake off the top but you would have to do it anyway to change yours.
