Branners
Hi folks, My supra is back from the body shop, but while it was away the insurance lapsed. So I need to call round the insurance companies and find a good price. Obviously there is Sky, who else is worth a go at the moment? The car is modified but only with wheels, straight through exhaust, bodykit and suspension. Whos good at the moment?
DodgyRog
I am on limited mileage of 5k with LWIB all mods declared agreed value and pay just over £300 a year certainly worth a call now you are out of insurance with SKY They can't quote against Sky because the Underwriter won't allow it, guess Sky got annoyed with being under cut possibly lol
Branners
That was the one I couldnt remember. Do you have their web address so I can make sure I get the right one?
Dnk
Don't LWIB use Markerstudy same as Sky ? they did when i was with them a year and a bit ago, supposedly not too great to deal with. Supra Steveo posted how unimpressed he was not too long ago in Sky's insurance thread Edited July 29, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)

Branners
LWIB (Higos now apparently) said theirs is over £700, Sky have just come back in with a great quote so I'm waiting for Lynbrook, Performance Direct and A Plan to come back to me. ScottC
For me, Graham Sykes came in at £270 this year but there was a massive increase in the excess. A plan and Lynbrook quoted me £350 and Sky was nowhere with £550.

Abz
Competition Car Insurance was by far the cheapest for me too, very polite and helpful on the phone too. I didn't go with them purely because I need 3rd party to drive other cars but they were VERY cheap & 5 free track day covers.
Havard
JB, did you get a quote from Lynbrook? I thought your car was a daily so a classic policy would be a no, no. FWIW, I paid £280 this year for a car I never drive. 3K miles, agreed value. H.
mellonman
to be fair i have used sky and cci, and guess what insurance come in the post avavi is the actual insurer for both
dangerous brain
If it's not a daily then try around all of the classic insurers. I think mines with Lynbrook and it was pennies. Hastings is another one. A-Plan do classic policies too.
JordanC
Just had a quote from Flux for £720! £4300 agreed value, 2 years NCB, 25 years old, 5k limit (classic policy) Well happy! Sky couldn't even quote me as I didnt have 1 year's experience with a RWD car! Bit silly considering they are the club insurer, never heard of someone's first RWD being a Supra before?? lol Ryan from Sky was very polite on the phone though and even wished me happy birthday for last week which softened the blow
Mad Hatter
Performance direct, limited mileage classic insurance £215. Zero no claims as I'm using it on my main car.
Wez
I am still using Sky and have always given me decent quotes, I do still phone around each year to check but normally end up just renewing
