Guest Roger NE
Has anyone ever measured the maximum voltage that is fed to the Fuel Pump by the FP ECU, ie under full power? Following an issue with my engine transplant under certain conditions, I have just measured mine . . . I am only peaking about 11 volts . . is this correct? (I would have thought it would give the full 14 volts when at WOT and high revs) (I understand that the Pump ECU doesn't actually reduce the voltage, but sends PWM pulses of varying widths depending on pump speed required. But I am taking readings on an analogue meter, so am getting an average reading. However, at WOT and high revs I would expect to see 14V, as surely under those conditions there is just continuous full battery voltage fed to the pump?) Josh42
If I'm correct, the fuel pump ECU on a mkiv alternates between 9v and 12v dependant on throttle position etc.
Guest Roger NE
But when you say 12v, do you mean battery voltage, which is actually around 14v when the engine is running? Has anyone actually measured it?
