Noz
PSI 181.25 177.625 188.5 199.375 145 181.25 Anyone got any advice with these values? Cylinder 5 is down, read that 156 is the lowest it should be. Any advice with this please
Tricky-Ricky
Have you tried some oil down each bore to see if it a ring seal problem? and if it doesn't improve then run a leak down test to see if its a valve problem, the trouble is that a bit more of a 10% difference. Guest Roger NE
Yes if the compression comes up if you put a teaspoon of oil down the plug hole on No 5, then it's faulty rings . . . otherwise it's a valve problem or your head gasket. No matter what the cause, I expect it's why you have your poor running/missfire The fact that No 4 is showing a good figure, but all the rest are a fair bit lower is not a good sign either. (last time I checked mine they were almost all the same)
Chris Wilson
Do a leakdown test, or pay to have one done, they are a lot more accurate and informative than a simple compression test.
