Bally
Hi all I am new on here just after a bit of advice please I am looking to buy a supra 6 speed manual I have seen a lot of n/a cars for sale fairly cheap (around 3k ish) with less than 100,000 miles is it an easy job to convert one to a turbo car and what would approx cost be? Thanks in advance for any info!
tooquicktostop
Wait for a TT6 the hassle and cost is not worth it, it will also always be of less value as an NA-TT
Bally
Thanks for your reply A lot of owners go from the twin turbo setup to a bigger single turbo is it best to buy one that's already had this done? also what are Supras like for rusting as most are 20 yrs old now? finally I would be wanting it to be around 350-400 bhp as to keep it as reliable as possible any info appreciated (don't want to buy the wrong one)! tooquicktostop
400BHP is BPU so no single turbo expense required, hold out for a BPU TT and you will love it

tooquicktostop
UK TT6 will be a long wait, insurance is not that big a difference, contact Jurgen on here and import the spec you desire
j_jza80
Just buy the best that you can afford (inc running costs!) Buying a cheap car with a view to 'doing it up' is a false economy. At the moment, you're going to need around £10k for a TT6.
Scott
N/A to TT6 = Cost of N/A + approx £6k for TT 6spd conversion (unless a 6spd N/A is bought). Auto TT to TT6 = Cost of Auto TT + approx £3k TT6 - Single Turbo = Cost of TT6 + £10-20k Value of N/A to TT6 Value of Auto TT to TT6 Value of Single Turbo varies wildly. Absolute rock bottom minimum 10k for a competent single 6spd. Normally £15k+. Bottom line is decide what you want... and buy that. Otherwise you'll throw money at the variant you buy to get the one you want and will end up way down on the resale value. If you're happy with approx 400hp and you want a manual, buy a 6spd TT. Whatever you buy it for now, it'll still be worth down the line if looked after (possibly even more).
