Virus
Hai guys Some of you remember me, i recently bought a NA supra. I have it insured right now for a month on chassis to get ready to import her into belgium. (this is my first week yay). So i drove around let's say 310 miles with it so far. When i bought her the oil was 50%-ish full. I checked again today & it was barely above low. The car hasen't been driven a lot for 2 years. Is it normal that this happens (maybe oil going into the completely engine after it all soaked down into the oil pan)? Maybe i have an oil leak which would be a major set back. I'm going to follow it up & post updates as soon as I know more. Second problem is the check engine light. It randomly pops up. Theres no weird noise coming from the car, no weird engine noises nothing. It's not rpm or speed depended neither. it never comes on for longer then 2 minutes. Then it maggicaly disappears. Any ideas or suggestions? Should i go to garage & should it be something i don't have to worry about. I have noticed so far tho, that the electricity in the car has been done really crappy. The mile limiter was installed crappy, the radio wiring was sloppy, the blinkers are sloppy, etc etc. Any ideas / input is welcome!
Mk4Gaz
I guess the first question to ask is: Have you checked for error codes stored on the ecu, it can be done using a paperclip? Does it smoke on cold start, or overrun?
Virus
I have not checked for error codes on the ecu. I'll check tomorrow for the cold start. Maybe a tiny huff of white smoke, i'll confirm tomorrow. Edited July 23, 2014 by Virus (see edit history)
Virus
I just checked for the smoke on the cold start: it's a tiny huff off white smoke. Nothing to be worried about. Any ideas?
Guest Roger NE
If it's leaking oil, rather than burning it, you should be able to see . . . Can you not see oil stains underneath the car (where it's parked)? If you HAVE, to see exactly where it's leaking from you need to remove the plastic tray under the engine (if your car still has one) And regarding the Engine Warning Light, this normally indicates something wrong (which could be quite minor, or even just a dirty connector) - but the Supra has a self-diagnostic check - you don't need a computer or anything, and it will tell you what is wrong. (I think there is a guide on here that tells you how to read the fault codes) Edited July 25, 2014 by Roger NE (see edit history)

As for the oil keeps stable for now. I'll keep looking out for it tho. 4th of august she's probably going to the garage for a quick check up & to fix a blinker & rear fog light issue i'm to lazy to figure out. Then 6th of august, time to go to MOT & hopefully pass (but probably not)
