paulj1
How long does it take to remove a supra fuel tank cover and any one got instructions of how to do it please as going to attempt to swap my new one on at weekend. Cheers Paul
natony
Its only a 10 min job and you should be able to look at your new one for the location of the bolt holes, i think theres about
Scooter
refitting can be fiddly, there is (at least) one bolt that's tucked up out the way. 10mm (I think) ratchet spanner essential! Isn't there also a plastic piece between it and the rear bumper to remove?

Ric
Does the rear bumper need to come off to remove this?
Carbon_Bullet
Does the rear bumper need to come off to remove this? Yes, we'll makes the job a lot easier, took my rear bumper off when I did mine
Konrad
Does the rear bumper need to come off to remove this? No, you just remove 4 plastic clips at the bottom and it will move out of the way enough for a ratchet to get there I just removed fuel tank from mine to replace fuel lines. Westy
Takes minutes to get it off...no need to remove the rear bumper either.
2soops
Piece of cake, 4 plastic clips at the bottom of the bumper and 6, 10mm bolts on the guard. Should take about 10 mins if the bolts aren't seized. You'll be amazed how much crap gets stuck between the cover and tank so watch your eyes if laying under it when removing.
paulj1
Cheers guys going to do this on Saturday are all the bolts the same size that hold it on as I've just removed one so I can get some new ones but it's fairly short the one I've removed from the bottom of the protecter
Marcus GTE
I think the bolts are all the same. 10mm. There are plastic screws too that hold the clips onto the rear bumper. Just remember it's only the 10mm bolts you remove. The beefier ones hold the actual fuel tank on. Don't ask how I know that Did mine a couple of days ago. Marcus GTE
Fantastic job Marcus. Cheers Kev, took it back to bare metal on most of it and was easy with an angle grinder.
Kev.O
Well worth the effort. What paint did you use? Looks brand new.
Marcus GTE
Well worth the effort. What paint did you use? Looks brand new. 1 coat of anti rust zinc primer 1 coat of gray halfords primer 1 coat of saab black from halfords (had it for the daily driver anyway) Still to put a clear coat on it. Again from halfords. It's not perfect , still a few rough spots as I didn't have a lot of time and only 2 coats of primer on the inside but a lot better than before.
