supraGZaerotop
hi all, looking for some info what you u think of this pipe, i noticed it about a year ago and seems to be getting worse. ive lost maybe 200ml of coolant in a year which i know is nothing. is this pipe a common issue? has anyone replaced it, cost? thanks
kraig
Looking at the picture, it looks like the hose clamp has actually split? thus causing the coolant to come out under load.
supraGZaerotop
so could be cheap fix then? maybe just try a new clamp, wonder, would i lose much coolant if i just popped it off, when cold of course. kraig
If it hasn't split, then it definitely doesn't look as though the hose and clip is on properly. Its one of the highest parts of the cooling system, so when cold shouldn't be a lot of coolant that comes out. I would check the clip first to see if its broken or not, if not you might get away with opening the clip and pushing the hose further onto the pipe, then clamping it again. straightsix
Push hose on further and secure with 2 jubilee clips. There may be some fraying/perishing on the end of the rubber hose that's causing a poor seal
Chris Wilson
Renew the metal pipe and fit proper Jubilee clips, job sorted.
