rob_sri Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Hi all.. I have some rust appearing here What's the best way to sort this.. And what products to use to cover it and stop it returning? I was thinking of removing the bootlid lightly sanding the effected area and then using some hammerite high temperature Matt black spray paint? LOGIE Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Personally id remove the bootlid then sand off all rust and apply a coat of kurust from hammerite. Then lightly prime and paint again l. The-Plethora Posted July 10, 2014 Share Posted July 10, 2014 I've got the same issue with mine, just waiting for a day or so to get it sorted. My local place said they would paint it but that I would need to remove the boot lid. From what I understand that can be a bit tricky as you have all the wiring and washer tubes etc. They said that it's fine to paint with a rattle can as it's not polished paint anyway so I see their point saving up for a full respray so just to stop it getting worse. With it undone and swaying I regretted my decison immediately and had to call my mate over to help .. And he helped me put it back on too by steadying it whilst I sat in the boot to align it..
