Dr Moz
Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Moz, I'm from Walsall & I've recently bought a 1995 NA auto in white. So far it's an absolutely fantastic car. Although the idle is a little high. Gonna check the vacuum hoses today & possibly clean the iacv. The Raven
Hi mate. When my N/A idle was to high i found a monkey had adjusted the throttle cable to tight and it was pulling open a bit.
stevie_b
Hi Moz, You didn't say if it was a warm or cold idle, but NAs idle quite high when cold (2000rpm ish, a bit higher than the TT's cold idle).
Dr Moz
Already checked the throttle cable, there's a fair amount of slack in it. Cold idle is about 1700rpm, warm idle moves between 1100 & 1400rpm. Which I think is a bit excessive.
stevie_b
Yep that is a bit excessive. Warm idle on mine is around 700-800rpm with no hunting.

Dr Moz
Had a clean around under the bonnet. Checked the hoses & made sure there was no blockages, reset the ecu & she's happily idling at about 750rpm. Happy days!
