Nemesis
You're honestly better off staying stock on the air box. Just add a K&N panel filter and that'll do.
Big Mark
I've got a K&N panel in mine. I was very tempted by the HKS Racing Suction kit and went as far as getting a price from Torque Developments but never got bought it. But I ever did go for one that would be the kit I'd get. Chris Wilson
Toyota do actually know what they are doing, VERY few aftermarket set ups draw in cold air from outside the engine bay, quieten the induction noise, whilst having ultra low restriction like the stock set up. I can think of nothing worse for your engine than an HKS "filter", save perhaps valve grinding paste in the sump oil. It's a total joke. To be frank, very VERY few modern cars have restrictive intakes, or ones that swallow hot air. Car manufacturers holy grail is great MPG, and that doesn't come with marginal air intake sytems. There's always loads of headroom for dirty air filters and hot climates. Mods to intake air boxes are usually way WAY down the list of worthwhile changes unless you can't resist colourful junk that makes a good set up worse. Radiators and air box changes are almost invariably inferior unless you spend a fortune on bespoke stuff.

I had a HKS mushroom filter on mine and i personally thought it was shite. It was on the car when i bought it. When i changed the filter media there were bits of foam missing from the back and was extremely mukky. I could still do with sourcing a standard inlet for mine.
