dangerous brain
SO I have had no reception on the radio since I bought the car. It's had a full body respray with every panel and trim piece off. I checked for continuity between the ariel cable at the head unit end and at the point it plugs into the ariel itself and not a jot, yadda. So question?? Is there a disconnect point anywhere between the head unit and the ariel itself that could have been left undone when the respray was done? Are there any pinch points along the cable that could easily have snapped? I have half a mind to run a new cable through but would like to save myself the bother if it's an easy fix. heckler
I'd just run a new cable through.
Chris Wilson
It may have a capacitor in the centre conductor, by design, which will not pass DC. Is there continuity on the shield (braid)?
dangerous brain
I didn't try that Chris. I shall now, especially as there may be a second red wire I didn't know about on the stubby conversion.

dangerous brain
That's still there but what would it's purpose be as the stubby S2000 ariel has been installed?
np89
its part of the aeriel system, mine wouldnt work without it. or do you mean the aerial signal cable has no continuity?
dangerous brain
Between the coax cable that plugs into the bottom of the aeriel and where it goes into the back of the stereo, but if there is a capacitor or something else on the line then maybe that's why there is no continuity.
