Twisted
So this is pretty weird. Not came across it before. I get wheel wobble from 70+ at its worst by 80. I cant drive through it but by 100 it's not as bad but still very noticeable. Going around corners doesn't affect it, speed fluctuations doesnt affect it. What I believe can affect it is the the road surface, generally the smoother the road the less it does it and normally on brand new tarmac it stops completely. But even this is intermitent. It's just completely random for it to stop. I've tried recreating it but nothing I do works, speed, road surface, cornering, gradient, nothing... I noticed the problem since I had new tyres fitted on the front, so maybe it's the balancing but would this be intermittent? Also I changed my wheel nuts but that was when I had the old tyres on and I can't remember noticing wheel wobble. I was assured by the company I bought them off at japfest that the ones I bough were the right size for the surpa on aftermarket wheels. Does anyone have any idea as to stopping this? Pete
Balancing possible, natural resonance and all that. Do your wheels fit properly on the hub or do they use those spacer things? I had a set of wheels that really didn't like those despite being perfectly balanced.
Havard
What tyres have you got on the front? We have had a bit of vibration but the wheels haven't been balanced for a few thousand miles.
Swampy442
How fast?!! Spigot rings/wheel not properly centred on the hub? Unless the tyre wasn't properly balanced
jazz1
I would say balancing.
Twisted
I have spigot rings because the wheels are a little big for the hub, but I've not have a problem since fitting them. I have toyo 45/245 on the front I believe. I'll look into getting them balanced again. A weight probably fell off or something Cheers bros
Scooter
Is there any chance the tyre fitters lost or had a spigot ring fall out? What I'm saying is are you positive they are still on there?
jim
Wobble between 70 & 80 is usually rear wheel balancing as far as i know, many places don't bother with balancing the rears on a rwd car (I've a mate who's a tyre fitter who used to say this regularly).
