kwalker705
Anyone any tips on how to get off the damned nut holding the pinion wheel/ input flange on the diff ?? Cant get an impact socket to fit down onto it properly at all. Is there a special tool for it ??
David P
Pneumatic jobbie and socket will shift it. Tight for 7 lbft aren't they? Edited July 2, 2014 by David P (see edit history)
Dazzi
Is that the 36mm/1-7/16 nut ? I had to weld a socket onto a 1-7/16 with a thin wall as my 36mm impact socket was too wide. Once I did this I used a crow bar to hold the flange and a very long bar.
Lee P
Use a hub nut socket
kwalker705
I had a 36mm socket on it.. but it was too shallow to get past the "pin" sticking out of the centre of the nut/pinion shaft. Guess ill just have to find an even deeper one.
