trebor69 Posted June 30, 2014 Share Posted June 30, 2014 At the moment I'm looking for a 1jz engine to transplant into my supra as I would like somewhere around the 400-450bhp mark and budget is tight , this is as far as I can gather the cheapest way ahead but how much power can you squeeze out of the 4.0 v8 Soarer ? Swampy442 Posted June 30, 2014 Share Posted June 30, 2014 Its far easier and cheaper to get power out of a turbo'd engine than an na, but you won't get 450 out of stock turbos on a 1J, will require a considerable amount of spends. Could have done it for less if I didn't change all the hoses for silicon. But that will only get you 350/400bhp at BPU. Not sure on cost of going single. You can get supercharger kits for the 1uz but not sure on price or what bhp you would get. 1jz BPU will feel loads faster than a NA. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
