x2k.dk
Hi guys. ive been playing with the idea of building a FT1 body on a Supra mkiv. what would people say to that?? i got a designer with a big Mill that could help with most of it. im thinking of building one but with the cut targa so i get a real convertable.. by that also lose the rear seats. evinX
I think unless you have a rusty old mkiv shell to play with its worth a shot. Or your going to be way in over your head to get the curves/lines/surface of a ft-1 while risking it on a mkiv
bobapple
Depends if its done by a specialty coach builder to a high standard otherwise it could turn out like that nasty lemans Bentley supra.
mellonman
I think its not that big of a job very similar shape and size, all you need is alot of clay and alot of time to make some molds fiber glass or carbon them then bold them to the car Good luck with it mate

Tsia
Pretty sure you can't just make the front of the car shorter like that... or am I missing something?
mellonman
I do hope that you panel skills are better then your photo shop ones
safcdixon
Awesome!! look forward to if you go ahead with it, gotta be a build thread if you do it! maybe make the front of the FT a little nicer though as its awful at the min, love the rest but the front is just not right imo
Bossco
Normally I'd say replicas don't have a place on this earth, its either the real thing or not at all however, in this case I say go for it. I love the look of it. Make it happen.
JasonR24
Change the ugly nose/see through bonnet and rear lights of the ft1 while you're at it
x2k.dk
I do hope that you panel skills are better then your photo shop ones Trust me im not a computer guy. incase i go forward with this then it will be designed by a specialist and build(milled) by a company before i build the panels.. people who know me know that quality is nr 1 for me. j_jza80
It would be much easier to start with a space frame kit car chassis imo. Otherwise, it'll look like one of those Ferrari replicas.
johnny g
Change the ugly nose/see through bonnet and rear lights of the ft1 while you're at it It won't be an FT-1 then, will it?
ripped_fear
if your photshop skills are as good as your car building skills I will take two

Brazil
Do it, I for one would be interested in purchasing the kit.
