DodgyRog
Gearbox will be my next big spend, not sure which way to go really, don't really want to go Auto, but it makes financial sense There just doesn't seem to be a sensibly priced option for a manual BPU Supra anymore
Big Supes
It could well work out the same price as an old 6sp getrag, but I think I would happier knowing I have a gearbox nearly 20 years younger, shifts a lot nicer and is a fraction of the cost to replace... and lets be honest, spending 3k on an old getrag that has more than likely seen a lot of hard miles and thinking it will see out the car is wishful thinking. Hitbox Junkie
for 4k you can get a v160/161 kit and have it fitted.

The car will also be worth a few £k less. I don't think it is worth it - but I also think that is quickly changing, and as the price of Getrags goes up, and the supply dwindles, this will increasingly look like a good option. But as I said before, I'd rather start with an M3 gearbox, though I suspect they are much more expensive than the Zed box.

Then its as good as a 3k foot rest. The car will also be worth a few £k less. I'm not overly concerned about how a 350 gearbox would affect the value of my car, tbh. She's a keeper, which is another reason the Z gearbox is appealing as it'll be far cheaper to repair/replace than the getrag if anything goes wrong. I honestly don't think the M3 is necessary... the 350 can handle way over my power goals.
j_jza80
I wasn't suggesting the m3 box for the amount of torque it can handle, it's a nicer gearbox to use than the 350z one. Probably the nicest shifting manual box I've ever used after an mx5.
