Hi

My supra TT has just gone through it's second w58 not surprising but have to upgrade now

It's just gone to go full BPU as it was only running 0.8bar without boost controller

would be intrested in trying the 350z gearbox as to hard to find a v160/161 ,

Any opinions on the 350z box ?

Cheers

The E36 range of boxes will not fit. I use an ABCclutch kit which is a conversion kit to use an E46 M3 6spd Getrag. Very strong box and easy to find. The conversion kit is a proper bit of kit, not like some of the lash conversions iv seen..

Id be more interested in that e46 conversion.

would also say an E46 m3 box would be a better one, but only because the E46 box has a lovely gear change, where the 350z one feels a little Soft by comparison. To be fair, the 350z I drove had a very hard life, which could be a contributory factor.

I hadn't considered it before, TBH. I just noticed more and more skidders using the 350z box and they hold up well with abuse. I'll definitely look into it. :)

try supra forum as they use 350 boxes I'm I've been told. 'm thinking about doing this myself

Sweet. Will go and take a look. I am warm to the idea of a smoother gearbox to operate and one which is A LOT cheaper to replace should anything go wrong.

It will probably work out similar price to the v160 once you have got all the parts to make it, maybe a little cheaper but it will be newer and a lot less miles on it., that's why I'm thinking of doing this in the future. I'm not sure if they have made a complete kit that you can buy or you have to collect it all yourself. (not got that far )

The boxes are cheap,, making it work costs a bit

Just off the top of my head:

- propshaft

- bellhousing/adapter plate

- gearbox mounts

- shifter reposition/extension

- clutch/ flywheel

This all sounds very expensive, unless someone started putting a kit into full production, I can't see how all this could be done for much less than the price of a getrag box.

- possible diff change depending on ratios

Hopefully SRD or Whifbitz will look in to this one day soon.
