LOGIE
When I turn my ignition on the yellow TRC light comes on briefly then goes out after 3-4 seconds. Is this normal? I thought it should stay on untill I press the trc/slip button then go off?
LOGIE
If I floor the accelerator it does come back on when wheel spinning. Edit. To prevent wheel spinning Edited June 21, 2014 by LOGIE (see edit history)
straightsix
Sounds normal to me. Trac defaults to being switched on (ie - dash light off) and is switched off after pressing the button (dash light on) Trac light should come on if the wheels spin as it's warning you that Trac is operating
gordy.r
Yeah, upon start up my trac light and trac light off both illuminate then go off after a few seconds. When wheels lose traction the trac light comes back on when system activates and remains on until I give the loud pedal a quick squirt (don't know if that is normal though? Lol)
LOGIE
Cheers. Its just if im sitting stationary and press the trac button nothing happens. Ie I have no way of telling if its on or off. Im just trying to see if its working correctly as ive retro fitted it to an NA-TT.

Tsia
I'm not sure I'm a fan of it, the one time I had bit of a slide in the Supra, I had control of it... until TC kicked in and suddenly sent me in the direction I was facing. A very near miss! Off topic a bit, but still

skyline1
Anyone else's traction control dump the car in snow mode when it detects wheel spin?
Suprash
How can I disable this permantly, can I just pull a fuse ?
Josh42
I believe you can pull the fuse Ash, but I think I remember something about the Trac light flashing constantly, maybe wrong though...
Josh
Mine's fully disabled and I like it that way. From reading stories about how dangerous it makes a controlled situation, if I had it I'd turn it off before every drive anyway!
LOGIE
Mine's fully disabled and I like it that way. From reading stories about how dangerous it makes a controlled situation, if I had it I'd turn it off before every drive anyway! ill prob do the same after i know its working properly. due to the fact ive retro fitted it to my NA-TT I just want to know I got it right. Am I right in thinking there is NO "off" light?
Suprash
I used to always disable it at the start of each drive anyway, but would like to permanently make this happen now
LOGIE
I used to always disable it at the start of each drive anyway, but would like to permanently make this happen now when you disable it ash does the TRC light just go out? ie TRC light "on" means....traction control is "on". TRC light is "off" means...traction control is "off"
Suprash
Hahaha, you're asking me......its been 4 years since I fired my beast up and drover her, the drifter is a stripped, essentials only and the Mrs is a NA auto, so its been a while since I was last behind the wheel of one that has had TRAC lol, but from memory, there is no light, nothing displayed whilst it is on, I remember when I hit the button to turn it off, it would display something in orange, but I cant remember what exactly lol. I remember when wheels slip did occur it would display an orange squiggle lol
LOGIE
That sounds about right then. Mine comes on briefly when started and I dont see any lights again untill I give it a bit of welly.
