dr_jekyll
150 is fine on the gte . youl prob find the oil is dripping from the cam cover gaskets , very common
jza800
no oil from the cam covers, they are toal dry... i could see that my pistons was wet on the top off the pistons on those cyl that had oil on the spark plugs, and what i think is oil.. dr_jekyll
is the car smoking? if the rings are worn allowing oil past it will be smoking. and I doubt youd have 150psi per cylinder. is the car using oil?
jza800
the car dont smoke, and it dont use oil, it only use i Little Water...

jza800
no, oil in cyl is not normal..
dr_jekyll
it would have fallen through when you took the plugs out. if it was getting into the combustion chamber when the car was running youd know.
Nic
Why did you do a compression test, was there a problem? Are you sure it's oil, not just carbon build up and a little petrol?
jza800
because the car use Water, so i did a compression test to see if i had a headgasket fault, then i did see that i had 4 spark plugs that so soaped in oil and the rest 2 was dry.. yes i am positiv that it is oil, as it smells like oil.. safcdixon
When i changed my plugs the other week they had oil on them aswell, but they have everytime ive changed the plugs for the last 4yrs, mine uses no water at all, i dont think the oil on the plugs has anything to do with your water loss problem. Check your core plugs for weaping
wile e coyote
If worried about head ghen have a snif test done
Swampy442
150 on all 6 cylinders is fine. Was the oil on the outside of the plugs, i.e. the part not in the cylinder? Might be leaking cam cover gaskets.
Fizzy T
I have the same thing but I'm not really worried about it, Mine is on the last two spark plugs furthest to the rear of the engine. It's a failed cam cover gasket, slight oil seepage is getting to the top of the spark plugs on mine so it was only on the threads when I took the plugs out. It wasn't inside the chamber and on the elements.
shaz2010
Would oil on the plugs off a Leakey cam cover gasket cause the car to smoke at all ?
safcdixon
Would oil on the plugs off a Leakey cam cover gasket cause the car to smoke at all ? Aslong as it wasnt getting past the plugs into the cylinders no, if you have a slack plug it might a but it wouldnt be enough oil to be seeable imo it would be such a small amount it woukd burn off very quickly
The Raven
Both me N/As had the same both down to failed cam cover gaskets. It showed no signs of smoke or anything else wrong with it
