Hello guys,

I'm italian and i'm search to understand which could be the best solution to upgrade hp on my supra.

My supra is an NA version in good condition but i don't know the real mileage of the engine.

i think that it has 126000 miles , and i'd like to put like new upgrade the whifbitz turbo kit.

Paul told me that is better this kit than swap but the true is that with a 2jz-gte i could also has more hp with low mileage.

I don't want to spend a lot of moneys but i want to do the better choice.

I have the w58 gearbox and it is in good condition. I have changed oil timing bel ,fan belt and all pulleys also crank pulley.

the car goes fine but i want more hp.

I've seen that with whifbitz turbo kit the new power will be about 370 hp and for my use here in Italy is a good power.

can i have advices from who has put this kit? I think that Paul works very good and i have trust in his person but i want more information to do the new step.

thanks in advance for all comments.:D

Hi,

I have just fitted this kit to my own 5 speed manual supra.

I will be firing her up shortly and will let you know how I get on.

Quality of the kit is superb.

I know of a friend of mine who fitted it after previously having an XS power kit and they were worlds apart in appearance, quality and performance.

good to know you Josh42 , so now you have about 370? or more? i know that the quality is good because Paul does only good parts. I want to know also about mileage if is too much to put the kit or not.... what could be the bad points? do you have changed also the complete brakes kit?

Hi Italian? :p

First you need to do a compression or leak down test. Leak down would be better compression is not bad either. Instruction are on the net just search how to. Next someone very wise once said " with great power, comes great responsibility. While the NA and TT look the same they are not the same car. The TT has a slew of other parts that help it become the legend it is. LSD, 6spd, oil squirters, bigger radiator, bigger brakes, etc. so while yes you could technically make great power going NA-T don't forget the additional power causes things to break and get hot. So I recommend making sure your car is ready mechanically prior to going turbo. Rant over :)

Yes I'm in agreed with you, in fact this thread is to understand me what is very good to do this step. About gearbox i think that i will held the w58 and if is possible buy a good differential upgrade for 5 gears will be put in the car. Than i want also buy the racelogic trac system. What do you think about this? because the decision is between buy the complete 2jz-gte with lsd and v160 or held the w58 put a new strong diff and the whifbitz turbo kit. I'm not interest to have a lot hp but the correct power for my streets and my car. Na power is too less for a supra... about brakes I will buy a new kit from Paul.... probably before to start the turbo upgrade
