1uzfe wiring help

ok so my supra is going to the garage today to get the v8 engine swap started I have had a lot of help from a few people on here, I would like to thank them as it is much appreciated, I don't like to keep bugging them with questions, so I thought I would ask here. the engine I have is from a 92 soarer, it came with the box and the ecu/loom all still connected and as far as I am aware no wire that are needed have been cut. now the mechanic that is doing it for me is is good and is good at the electrics aswell but has never done this before and is not a Toyota expert so he is wanting some diagrams or directions as to what wiring work will need to be done, I have the tachometer sorted, with a external rev counter for now. so what im wanting to know is what are needing done to get it to run and what needs cut from the supra in to the soarer loom? I have spent hours looking through lextreme and others and they are very helpful and I have found some wiring diagrams but only car specific ones not soarer to supra ones, if that makes sense? maybe they are there and im just missing them, but any help will be much appreciated. cheers

Well you have the soarer loom so the fuse box is plug and play. You will have to run the Alternator wiring and that is about it in the engine bay. The ecu connector and the chassis plugs is where you will struggle. I have a lot of 1uz wiring diagrams inc the 92 engine diagrams. pins outs an various other info.

 

If you want the factory Tacho to work, retro fit a MR2 tacho head mech into your supra cluster as the V8 only uses the output from one igniter ;-)

I'm still not 100%, if I was doing this myself I wouldn't know where to start with the electrics haha but thanks to Lyndon I do understand a bit better, I do have the orange, grey and white connectors on the supra loom so I should be ok and also gave me wiring diagrams of the supra and soarer loom which ive showed the mechanic, so hopefully he will be able to work it out from there :D

I had the same problem in the end I bought soarer lump just for the mounts as I was originally going down the ls400 route

 

damn really? are they that hard to get? is there no other options if I cant get one? as my sup is sitting on his ramp with no engine in it now :/

He should have mounts failing that you'd have to find one breaking I had a quick look on ebay for you but I dont see any V8s breaking just tt ones.

 

When I was looking for a Soarer breaking the local scrappy in Musselburgh told me they had sent off a complete running v8 soarer to be crushed after it sitting in their yard for months and not selling one part. Call all the local scrappys mate they are rare but still out there.

 

I assume when he says the mount is knackered he is referring to the rubber being perished.

yeah ill give him a phone, im sure ive used him before and was really helpful, but I will phone about aswell. yeah the rubber has split :( cheers mate

Works out to be about £180 but another $85 postage from the US. Might be worth a look the say delivery is only 1 week but I've ordered stuff from the US before and it can take longer.

 

you must be a better googler than me haha I was searching last night and found nothing, ill defo check them out if I have no luck, cheers for that :D
