Three mobile phone network

Recommended Posts

I took out a three contract when my O2 business user ran out, I was paying £100 per month with O2 and three offered me the exact same deal for £40.

It was ok the first few days, But sometimes id go to use the phone and you just couldnt call out, the screen would just display the number, Id phone the indian call centre and get no where, I then found out that they use O2's cells and if theres a high volume of O2 calls going through the 3 stuff cant connect,

A do a lot of phone calls in the car using a hands free but as you drive through difrent cells it drops the call and you need to dial again, Doesnt sound to bad unless your on a long journey and long call or a important call.

I wouldnt recomend 3 to anyone at all, There customer service is shocking, there recptions just as bad. Theres no point giving you all those free minetes if you cant use them.

After about 2 months i put my 3 phone in a drawer and took out a vodaphone high user deal, Far better.

I sell Mobile phones for a living to Major corporations on behalf of a Virtual Network Operator (like Virgin, 3, BT etc).

My mobile phone is with Orange, I have never had any problems with them.

Voda / O2 are just interested in making money and stuff theuser. T-mobile are ?? Depending on what your usage is helps with what your Upgrade / Re-sign value is.

if you want any help re that I am willing to advise you on what you could / should get !!

Is exactly what I did, only after 3 weeks

3 is absolute garbage, I wouldn't give a 3 phone pocket space

I've been with Orange for nearly ten years now and never had a problem... excellent customer service etc. really good coverage, call quality..

My current contract is up soon so I was looking at one of their 3G phones (the Nokia one with the two camras?)... does anyone know if the Orange 3G service is any better than 3's? I'm not really going to start jumping up and down if I can't get a video call in the middle of nowhere but is the voice call service on a 3G Orange the same as on a 'normal' Orange phone..? Anyone had any experience with this?

I've never had any problems with Three (touch wood). Phone has been great, reception has been better than I used to get on Orange at times and I've had a signal just about everywhere - I've even had a signal when others around me on regular networks haven't. Guess I'm the exception to the rule.

Thought three (3) was okay, I was lucky in that I never had that many dropped calls, but I was very disappointed with the "walled garden" internet access.

You couldnt even use the phone as a modem to dial out to the internet as 3 had locked that down as well. Idiots.

Especially when the phone I bought, the A835, was advertised as internet ready by 3. Well it was, its just that they only let you browse their own content, and not the outside internet. Talk about misleading advertising, f****s :complain: Perhaps it should have been advertised as (3's own) "intranet ready" instead!

However I unlocked the phone and popped an O2 simcard in instead and got the full features out of the phone on the O2 PAYG network.

I believe loads of people had problems cancelling their contract (though in fairness I didnt after 12 months) and I found it difficult to get anything through to the guys in Mumbai - probably because of my accent :D - but then Ive never had the same problem from an British/Irish based call centre. Just one of those things I guess!

I wouldnt go back, but loads of people love the cheap line rental and dont use the net on their phone and think 3 are great.

Finally, Id also advise you to check out the 3G forum before making any decisions on a 3G mobile and operator.

Im with Orange now, and using a SPV C500 which I think is great. Internet access via Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger ready and loads of useful apps - its a "windows smartphone". Its on a PAYG contract and I bought it from a place called http://www.mobiledealer.co.uk a few months ago. Orange (or Typhoon who is the phone manufacturer) have brought out the C550 now which supercedes the last one, though I dont think this is available on PAYG tarrif, IIRC I was lucky to get the C500 on PAYG at the time for £139.99. Its currently going for a penny off £165 at the same place at the moment.

I didn't realise '3' are still appallingly bad..I got a '3' phone when the network first started...and I expected it to be bad then..but after a few months it was still unusable as a mobile phone service..so I got ALL my money back including bills..via 'Oftel' (now Ofcom)

I am really shocked they are still as bad, I would of hoped they would have improved..I'm on Vodafone 3G and to be honest i was having very similar problems, dropped calls and no network coverage...I phoned Vodafone and after an long debate with a nice lady from 'Accounts' they decieded to send me a 'new' phone.

This 'New' phone a Sharp 902 cameraphone with 2meg camera works a treat and all the problems are solved...they did offer to let me end the contract prematurely if the new phone didn't solve my network problems.

Trick is always complain to 'accounts' they are the only people that can make your dreams come true.

Yep same here, now on Orange. Three would cost just as much long term as I was always having to call people back and say sorry for the network dropping the call. Then the Phone would crash for no reason. Never received my texts, and the picture messaging wouldnt work. Apart from that it was great
