DBB Turbo oil restrictor

Recommended Posts

My current restrictor has stripped its threads that screw into the housing of a Boostlogic DBB T67. It's a -4AN to 1.00 thread and the top aperture is 3mm (Feed) to 1mm restriction (housing).

The online replacements I can find have a restriction of 1mm but they don't say what the top aperture size is. Are they likely to be 1mm to 1mm and will this effect flow in any way? I know it shouldn't as it's down to pressure but just want to put my mind at rest knowing they won't starve the Turbo.

Cheers!

It's not entirely down to the smallest size of the orifice. The shape of the orifice also makes a difference. The longer the restriction the greater the pressure drop and therefore the lower the flow to the turbo.

In the extreme imagine how much the flow would be affected if the 1mm diameter section was 1m long.

All of the restrictors I found are of the same dimensions as I want a like for like. Just wanted to know if anyone knew what the top aperture is likely to be with a 1mm restrictor, as mine came with the turbo. Its aperture is 3mm at the top and 1mm at the bottom.
