jazz1
Anyone here have any experience with the Ikeya stuff, ie links, upper arms lower arms etc.
j_jza80
Are you building a track car? They're not really suitable for use on the road, unless you fancy lots of expensive rebuilds.
jazz1
Not really basically I'm getting some knocking whilst jacking the car so I'm replacing the coilovers as I don't know if that's the cause? I'm thinking replacing arms links etc and thought maybe the ikeya stuff would be a better choice? On the other side I am building a high HP supra so I don't know if using the ikeya stuff would actually help.
Jellybean
The rose joints on the Ikeya Formula will need changing a regularly , they make sense for track
jazz1
Ok so I take it stock replacement is best options?
Jellybean
Sure is for the road, Toyota used spherical bearings in the rear top arms and a rod end on the rear toe control arms Toyota did a good job Even Poly brushing the OEM arms is a step back

bignum
Now thats an expensive exercise to try and find a problem, have you not got an mot station near to you with 1 of those wobble machines built into the ramp, if anything is loose or knocking that will find it then bung the garage a few reddies. Dnk
Or just a decent garage that can put it on the ramp and go round the bushes checking for play and do a bolt check etc Far cheaper than just blindly throwing parts at the car Edited June 2, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
Jellybean
Heres oem parts and diagrams , I normally look it up for a price comparison and get them via MVP But Toyota Ireland is not bad, cheaper than uk shops these days http://www.villagetoyotaparts.com/showAssembly.aspx?ukey_assembly=359669&ukey_product=2064407
Dnk
I guess there's shipping, import duty and vat to go on those prices
Jellybean
I guess there's shipping, import duty and vat to go on those prices I got diff bush mounts for 120 delivered with vat / duty versus 200 euro off Toyota Ireland via MVP
evinX
basically I'm getting some knocking whilst jacking the car Are you nuts? all cars make creaks and knocks when you jack them up...send the car into a garage for a proper check up, itll cost a couple of quid compared to replacing random parts that probably don't need changing. jazz1
After long thinking I might go down the ikeya route as I run aggressive wide wheels and also the fact they help amongst this when il be running big power, let's see.
Dnk
Sorry Jazz but your reasoning leaves me a little bewildered. How many big hp cars on here use anything other than stock suspension arms ? Diffs and gearboxes break before these parts. Edited June 2, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
jazz1
You guys are right just spoke tuner he stated stay stock arms etc as ikeya are not great ride, I guess il have to take it when the car goes in and check what needs doing etc, cheers guys for the advice.
