Spunkmeyer
When I bought my supra the spoiler was off and the panel holes welded up and I was handed the wing as part of the purchase. It's sat in my shed for 3yrs, finally had it fitted by a body shop. I think the fitting is wrong and because the spoiler is too big? It overhangs the panel lines - now I don't think it's a poor fitting as it's just too wide? Looking at web images the spoiler usually sits further up (thus narrower) and comfortably inside the panel line Am I going nuts? There aren't two wing sizes for a supra? Dnk
Stock o/e spoiler/wing doesn't overhang the tailgate Edited May 30, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
Spunkmeyer
Yep I thought it shouldn't but any further up the car and it's mounting onto the side panels not the boot? So is it not a supra spoiler?
Spunkmeyer
Aftermarket wing? Wtf why?? When there's a perfectly good oem wing anyway?
Dnk
I'd say its not a genuine mkiv spoiler/wing, its not the same shape as the o/e wing as well as being too wide Edited May 30, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
Spunkmeyer
I'm off to go stand in the shed and swear a lot. I didn't even offer it up ever in 3yrs just assumed yep it's a black wing for the black car that it came with. Prefer it off as soon as I saw it on. Nic
There's also the Zeek wing, these things are massive and very rare. http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/3830/zeek80bys8.jpg Edited May 30, 2014 by Nic (see edit history)
Guigsy
its not the blitz. the blitz doesnt overhang. a wider angle picture would be good
Nic
The fact that there are no holes in the boot lid to line it up to and pull the sides together may be causing the overhanging.

David P
I've never seen that one before. Did you go to the "Jazzi" School of Photography? Does it look like this? this is the GReddy rear wing http://jm-imports.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/P1080691-r50.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/2z4h8o4.jpg Nic, I have one of those on mine and have read elsewhere on the forum that it's a Bomex Fast & Furious? You've forgotten more than I'll ever know about after market body bits and I'm now curious to know exactly what it is. Do you have one of your infamous links? Thank you. Excuse the thread hijack. Guest Nicholas
Blimey that's an eyesore, always, always, always test fit body parts before handing them to a body shop. Do you know if the body shop managed to put a seal under the wing? it looks like it hangs over the boot shut lines.
Spunkmeyer
It does hang over but doesn't touch and they sealed all around and underneath before the shut line - spoke to him yesterday and it was the only position it could go with secure fitting - higher up would have crossed the shut lines
