Guest MINTER
right chaps, just out having a wee mooch at the engine of my 94 manual NA and decided to pull out a spark plug to see what condition they were in,opened up the cover and pulled out the first one at the front, when I lifted the plu out it was completly saturated in oil on the threads and tip, didnt seem to be to much on if any on the top rubber. the car starts up fine and doesnt blow ANY significant blue smoke on idle on driving . thinking soem soert of seals may be gone(probably due to age) ,but the question is which ones,or could it be something far more costly that my engine is fooked? Iky
Sounds like cam cover seals. Cheap easy fix.
Guest MINTER
just to edit, rather than on the threads and tip it seems that the oil is gathering above the threads and when taking out the plug it is covering the threads and tip on its way out, still cam cover seals yeah, have it idling now ,and turning over ok,now blue smoke or anything
