Richie_k83
Hi all, Names Rich, I'm new to the forum and Supra Ownership, but I have finally managed to get my hands on my first MkIV Supra. Previous Car was a Mk1 1.8l Mazda MX-5 that I had rebuilt from the ground up (Full engine overhaul, Polybushed, Diff, lots of welding etc, etc) All built with the intention of drifting it, but along came my need for a Supra My full build thread on Driftworks here. Anywho, back to the Supra. She is a 1993 J-Spec NA Auto, fitted with 18x8" Fox RS Alloys and Lexus 4 Pot front Calipers and purchased from fellow forum member ShaunPreece My Plans so far; General tidy up Interior tidy and paint plastics back to black Suspension and brakes overhaul Thats all for now, I have only managed to give her a bath so far. Interior is not really my taste but it is first on my to do list.... Edited March 1, 2016 by Richie_k83 (see edit history)

Ric
If that HKS filter is the old 1 layer type, i wouldn't fit it, pay your membership also.
evinX
Welcome, nice supra! Most of us remove those HKS filters as the stock box + filter is much better, id invest in a new filter from Toyota for around £25 over the mushroom.

The dreaded interior... Eek! Actually kinda like the Red but the White has to go for sure... Bayden_uk
tidy project you got your self there mate. finally got mine on the road as a rolling project my self. never seen a red dash before, looks mental! who ever had that put some time into it. the white paint should come off easy with some thinners, or you could just rub it down with some wet'n'dry an use it as a base coat. change the white and go back to black, but a gloss black, or maybe metallic black. think it would look tidy. looking at changing the color on mine my self. keep us updated with pics
Richie_k83
Thanks dude, I may stick with the red to save myself the hassle of paint removing, pretty sure a jet wash and light application of thinners may do the trick but we shall see Edited December 7, 2015 by Richie_k83 (see edit history)
Richie_k83
Just topped my oil up and noticed the crank pulley was anodized Gold, I asume this is not standard? Edited December 7, 2015 by Richie_k83 (see edit history)
Kirk
You'd be correct. Remove that crank pulley immediately and replace it with a brand new OEM one.
Richie_k83
You'd be correct. Remove that crank pulley immediately and replace it with a brand new OEM one. Any particular reason why it would need replacing? Do they use a dampened pulley on the GE motor?
Kirk
They use a dampened pulley on both GE and GTE motors. See here for an in-depth explanation. http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35945-Crankshaft-Pulley-Damper

kev_coupe
Also debating on this; http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/30/aha8eveb.jpg Actually kinda like the red but the white has to go... Wouldn't know how best to get it off though What possessed someone to do that to the interior?
Richie_k83
I dunno but everyone has their own taste i guess. I have plans for it come payday
Richie_k83
Made a start on the Interior, will be keeping the Red for now as its going to be an absolute mission to remove it all (and I frankly cant be bothered to spray it all black) Anywho, the White is coming off, so made a start with the centre console trim and arm rest, The arm rest being re-trimmed in a Suede material once the fabric lands. Stripped of all the White paint,. Filled the random hole and primered... Then the end result, looks loads better already, really chuffed with how it turned out, Edited December 7, 2015 by Richie_k83 (see edit history)
