Si_s Supe
I seem to have sprung a leak! But, it only seems to come on when I park up after a spirited drive. Normal driving it's ok. I'm struggling to see where it's leaking from so I thought I'd post to see if there's any usual suspects? My guess is the rad, but visually in situ it looks mint! The coolant is dripping from the cross member which runs underneath the rad. Here's a quick iPhone video taken just now after parking up at home. http://youtu.be/wE2zPpxkJog Any pointers gratefully received before I resort to pulling the rad out. Scooter
As it looks dry high up I think it may be the lower part of the rad, there can be quite a build up of leaves and assorted crap between the rad and the aircon rad which retains moisture and can rot the radiator over time. It might pay to remove the plastic shroud or even the lower 2 bolts if you want to try and locate the precise source of the leak.
Dnk
If the top & bottom hoses aren't leaking where they attach to the rad then it cant really be from anywhere else, wheres the expansion tank and its overflow pipe located ?
Si_s Supe
Scott, you're quite right, there is quite a build up of debris between the two. Have also now noticed that that the piece of sponge along the bottom of the rad is saturated. Guess there could be a problem at the bottom somewhere. Dnk, the expansion tank is in it's stock location, in front of the slam panel. The overflow is just a short 90 degree pipe coming off the cap. All dry there. Point to note though, the expansion bottle does run very low. The rad level however stays up.
Pulley
Can be the crimps have loosened and its pushing past the crimp seal rubber gasket The top and bottom plastic ends of the rad have lots of little fingers that are crimped over to hold the ends on If they pull apart slightly they can allow coolant to seep out under pressure That or the rad matrix has rotted

Dnk
Pages co 18 and co 24 onwards in the PDF below might be of interest to you but if its an old rad i'd be biting the bullet and fitting a new oneCO.pdf

Si_s Supe
How did the water pump cause coolant to drip from under the rad onto the cross member ? Christ, yeah...how did that happen? Hopefully mine isn't the water pump. With the typical Bank Holiday weather, I've not been able to investigate today.

Dnk
It's not that bad a job changing the water pump, a genuine pump from Toyota is around £100, CW i think does new OE spec rads for around £
