Engine mounts and block support brackets - how interchangeable?

I think the engine mounts need doing on my VVTi, I know they have different mounts (inferior weaker) than the original design.

To change them to the stronger original ones I'll need to also change the engine mounts.

 

Could anyone confirm if the block brackets are the same on the '93 NA and TT or if they were different?

Thanks David, that's interesting to see them side by side.

 

It's the block brackets I'm really trying to understand if there was a difference between NA and TT pre-facelift.

Not the difference between pre and post facelift mounts, I didn't make that clear sorry.

Facelift = Bigger blocks with smaller steel mounts.

 

Pre Facelift = Smaller blocks with larger aluminium mounts.

I've swapped them okay in the past, wish I hadn't as the newer ones leaked And I can't be bothered with the massive amount of work to swap them back!

I have a pair of pre facelift brackets here. You need the pre facelift mounts themselves. Cheers Pete.

I attempted it precisely once in a single garage with bugger all room. Got as far as pulling the intake manifolds and related gubbins off, hit my head on the engine crane once too often, and called "FI". It doesn't knock and it's stopped leaking* so I consider it fixed
