Hitbox Junkie
Hello ive seen a few clean looking 6speed n/a`s but i want a tt. My question is what would be the ball park figure for a na to tt engine swap. parts labour ect? I have used the search and seems there is alot to this but no prices not being a mechanic i would to scared to do this so would like a ball park figure if it would be worth the hassel of doing this? Thanks Ant
listy
I'd aim off about £2k for the engine, then at least another £1k labour for the transplant. i'm just going by how much it cst me to get a new engine put in a celica a few years back. However, that was a straight in and out job. Really, labour cost is garage dependent.
Hitbox Junkie
Cheers listy i would have thought this isnt stright forward swap as it would need loom, ecu, uprated clutch for the extra power?
Gpro
its bout 7 hours labour for a complete conversion including loom
Abz
I'd budget £3.5k if this is the route you are planning to go down. I found a lovely NA6 and went down this route. It is a fairly straight swap but mine was a bit more difficult due to being a VVTi engine & looms, but we just needed to know exactly what we needed as they differ. Their is a thread on which parts you need for the swap. I spent close to £5k if not more as I had FMIC fitted & new clutch flywheel amongst a few other bits & bobs. Over a year down the line and it has been more than perfect!
skippyboyo1
Get your budget and times it by 3 is usually sensible
Hitbox Junkie
if i went down this route i would have thought a budget of 3.5k for engine loom and labour but then would be a good idea when the engine is being done to up-rate clutch budget that at 1.9k so 5K sounds a good budget. Thanks for this info now got a month or so to think ponder whether this is the route or for that price to just go with a TT 6speed straight off. again thanks for the great information and reply's having a better in-site to the cost ect o/ Ant
