Dont know what the prob is exactly but rads can be recored (rebuilt) maybe not if you have driven into a solid object like a wall!:p And depending on the replacement cost from Toyota you may want to consider a Fluidline rad which some of the guys with quick Supras seem to use......

thanks for the replys guys, the reason i ask is i need a replacement. thought about the fluidynwe and pwr ones but they cost about 700 once everything is taken into account. so im getting a new one made buy dudersvr which should perform better than the stock. only prob is need to know if it is like the manual or like me and chris wilson suspect like the auto, or entirely different.

darren could u have a look at yours, chris says it should have it stenciled in grey or white on the radiator.

a) No one re-cores Supra Rads...been there tried that

b) The Tiptronic is an auto...so I would assume it has an auto's cooler in the rad. FWIW I fitted a stock auto rad to my 6-spd car (cause toyota fcuked up and them proceeded to blame me) and all is ok. To find out if you have an auto's rad you need to look down inside the fan shroud to the bottom of the rad and look for 2x 1/2 inch pipes coming out of the bottom tank.

c) How the hell does a Fluidyne cat that much?!!! Terry got his in for about £500 fitted AFAIK (Terry pls correct me if it was more expensive) unless your suggesting it would cost an extra £200 for an additional trans cooler to be fitted and rigged up? It's not hard to fit a rad so you can waive fitting costs...doing it yourself is a piece of pi$$.

d) Docking Engineering were recommended to me by CW when I was looking into custom replacements.

Alex, mine I think was re-cored as the warrenty would not pay for a new one when it sprang a leak.

Apparently (acorgind to the garage that did the work) their supplier kept sending Soarer radiators.....

It's got a sticker on it, I'll try and see if it's still readable (if I ever see my car in daylight)
