rob_sri
RA - For Street and Circuit Use Front : Pillowball Top Mount Rear : Rubber Top Mount or No Top Mount RS - For Street and Circuit Use Front : Rubber Top Mount Rear : Rubber Top Mount Which is best to go for.. will be mainly street with occasional track driving.. its not my daily so im not opposed to a stiffer set up if it will dramatically improve handling or feel! what is best and why? imi
Do a search on here as there are plenty of kits that are better than the BC. I had HSD Monopro's on mine - think they were excellent for the sub GBP1000 range. imi
rob_sri
After a bit of research BC seem to get good reviews and managed to get a very good price on them too As do the HSDs and MeisterRs Pillowball.. Good or bad thing for what I want though?
fastcar
If you drive it mostly on the street I would go for rubber top mounts as it will make the car less reactive and twitchy on crapy roads. Pillow ball top mounts are generally used on track cars that run on very smooth surfaces and benefit from a tighter suspension setup
Swampy442
Pillowball top mounts can be quite noisy and knocky, rubber mounts insulate the suspension noise from the body. Make your own mind up now
hogmaw
I just got some BC coilovers and asked Lee SRD the same question, no need for the top mounts for street use was the answer, so I went for that and I'm very happy with how they are. Not much of an answer but I think fastcar and swampy242 say it better.
rob_sri
It is a weekender so I've gone with RAs as they weren't that much more expensive.. That was before reading your advice though guys! I'm a little impatient haha still maybe this means il have to do some more track days I rang BC and spoke to their customer service who said that their pillowballs aren't that noisy and will sharpen up responsiveness and feel Car sounds like a jet taking off anyway haha Edited May 19, 2014 by rob_sri (see edit history)

TBDevelopments
i wouldn't touch HSD's with a bargepole anymore. less than 12 months old and there rattling there nuts off and 2 are leaking already. Not to mention i came to tweak the rideheight after 6 months when i got my new wheels they were rusted solid on the adjusters. Been using BC's alot recently in various projects and more than happy with the quality. for there price you can't go wrong. as for rubber or pillowball tops just go with rubber, deflection at the topmount won't effect suspension geometry so you can go with the rubber to give a better ride quality and less vibration.
