girth45
Hi all I have a tt vvti auto facelift 97 tiptronic , this morning it cut in (not unusual) but wouldn't turn off ! Limiting me to 55mph , stopped car and restarted to reset. Came back on under acceleration (car with skid marks flashing every time I accelerate) at next junction on idle, I could turn it off, then no more problems ! Any ideas ? Is there a fuse I can remove to disable the system ?
Wez
First thing most people do is switch it off as its next to useless
Dnk
No idea how the system works but could pulling a fuse to it affect the ABS ? i imagine that uses the same sensors on the hubs or am i talking a load of ********s
ShawnPreece
I agree with Wez, I had it on my old RZ TT and the first thing I done after starting the engine every time was turn it off
safcdixon
First thing I do when I get in the supra is turn the TC off, its a dangerous bit of kit imo
Wez
Not sure on the VVTI but certainly on the non-VVTI you can just remove the TC butterfly, HKS use to do a kit.
Chris Wilson
It may well be a wheel speed sensor on the way out, or rusted reluctor rings. You can pull TC fault codes and see if they show any issues.
girth45
Cheers chris will do, problem gone away, but will check fault codes.
dan294
I had this as an intermittent problem on mine, turned out to be a wire rubbed through on the drivers side ABS Sensor. Had the loom repaired and all was well.
girth45
Cheers will check the wireing as well.
