Gretie22
Want to paint my spark plug cover as it's a horrible sort of greeney grey colour. I'm assuming you have to use some special sort of heat resistant primer, paint and laquer as it gets so hot. Any one painted yours? what did you use? Mk4Gaz
I just used normal 2k on mine. I'm pretty sure just normal cellulose spray cans will be fine.
clay
I Did mine with spay cans. The paint is fine but when i put clear laquer on it it went brown. LOL... So i re did it without the laquer and its fine.
Gretie22
Oh ok, so regular primer and paint but no lacquer. Marvellous. Thanks
Ian Ian
You can get lacquer that can withstand the heat also...................... the paint will only go dull if it reacts to the heat ive been told Cheers -Ian-

gordy.r
Thread revival.... How did you get on with the painting? I too am looking at painting my spark plug cover, but I also need to trim away the cam cover as I've just bought a GReddy clear cam cover. Curious about how plasti dip would hold up on a cam cover, but can't foresee the results lasting long what with engine temps. Also got the chance of polished alloy spark plug cover, so was wondering what paint people use on the engine block sides itself? Thanks in advance...
