Decat question

Hi

I am thinking of just decatting the 2nd cat, and upgrading the exhaust from there back

My car has a sports cat in the 1st cat, would there be any advantage to do this

or would I be better ditching the lot and go complete decat?

I am not looking for massive power I would just like a bit more oomph

2nd decat pipes are very reasonable at the minute and there are a few cat back systems around also

Hence the question, looking at a 3" system

Many thanks

Sorry yes it is a TT auto

I will do a search on it

Thanks

I am not that up on sports cats and if that will be enough to prevent over boost or hitting fuel cut. But if you were to go double decat, you would need a fcd, restrictor ring maybe 1 bar, change of sparks plugs. The nice to haves after that are boost controller to raise the boost past 1 bar no more than 1.2 on stock turbos and a boost gauge blah blah blah, list goes on an on.

However, if you are not wanting a lot of gain, then hopefully you can find if sports cat is enough on 2nd decat

I was going to leave the first cat ( sports cat) decat the 2nd, fit a decent 3" system from here back and get a electronic boost controller and then push to 1 bar.

But turn the gain up and so hopefully bring the turbos in earlier.

As stated I am not after massive power ( well maybe later lol ) but just a decent pull from the car.

Thanks
