Scott
Watching Fearless right now (Jet Li). A brilliant film if you haven't seen it. It'll be on ITV4+1 @ 11 for anyone sitting up and looking for something decent to watch. Only downfall is the adverts

Scott
Great film that!! Watched it a few times and it just doesn't age for me. It's a brilliant tale, of course the truth is stretched to a ridiculous level... but taken for what it is, it's a brilliant movie.
Nemesis
He's a decent actor to be fair, obviously has the presence but he's pretty charismatic too. Should of given the Jack Reacher role to him, would've been more credible.

Likewise, must have seen it about 5/6 times at least but like you say it still keeps you glued. I find a lot of the newer films feel so mass produced, very few hold you to watching the film all the way through without distraction. supra_ufo
never watched fearless I did watch the hobbit - no spoilers (latest one) last weekend, granted I missed the first 5/10 mins of the movie (woman taking too long to get ready!) but enjoyed the rest of the movie. Worth watching.
Scott
Watching daybreakers right now. I've watched it before, but it left little impression as I don't remember anything. Not sure if I'll have anything to add as I've had a few light refreshments, but time will tell!

kokoro
Quick update from my latest few. The first two Hobbit films - really enjoyed both after not being that inclined. I can't remember much from the book, but it didn't matter. They kept my interest all the way through, and I wasn't clock watching like you end up doing with the last LOTR film. I thought the actors did a sterling job. Sir Ian just continues to be a legend and the rabbit sleigh was the icing on the cake. I Elysium (again). I forgot how much I enjoyed this the first time. I don't care that some people dislike it. I really like this film and think Sharlto Copley really makes it right. Matt Damon does make it pretty enjoyable too Aftermath - bit of a strange one. I'd misread the rating and thought it was worth a watch. It was ok. Typical nuclear war and how we react to it. The psychological effects were interesting but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go out of their way to see it. Mallrats - being a fan of Jason Mewes, I always wanted to see this. I enjoyed the first twenty or so minutes, but it was just a bit too slapstick and I turned it off. Must be getting old. Videodrome - another classic I'd missed. Kinda wish I could erase it. Just what? It was messed up in a way that even the bad 80s B-movie horrors can't do (except maybe Basket Case or Brain Damage). Hostel - I have to say this was a bit of a disappointment. I'm a massive horror fan, but I'd seen a particular scene from this (the achilles heel scene) which really put me off. Anyway, I finally sat down and put it on. It was nowhere near as bad as that scene made me think it would be. How disappointing. Roll on the next horror.... Oh and favourite Jet Li movie has to be Romeo Must Die. The BF introduced me to this back in the day. Good memories.
Kendo11
Totally agree with you about Elysium Kokoro, love that film. Just watched Gran Torino for the first time, very very good. Eastwood still has so much presence even in his old age.

supra_ufo
watched the dark knight trilogy today, brilliant movies! RIP Heath Ledger aka the joker Chris Nolan is a excellent director.
Rummy
"Let's be cops" Two struggling friends dress as police officers for a costume party and get more attention than expected, ultimately getting tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives. Not too over the top or corny like the usual Wayans brothers movies, this was actually quite fun to watch. 3/5 Bonus, there's a wide bodied Supra in the end credit clips! Al Massey
Mallrats - being a fan of Jason Mewes, I always wanted to see this. I enjoyed the first twenty or so minutes, but it was just a bit too slapstick and I turned it off. Must be getting old. Quality Kevin Smith film. Love his work and love this film. Snoochie boochies
Scott
Just watched The Identical. Fairly predicable heart string drama, but still very enjoyable regardless. Brief plot: Family have twins, can barely afford to survive on their own and find a very needing family that can't have children. Make the painful decision to give one of their kids away. Both kids grow up in completely different environments, yet both find themselves on very similar paths. Bit of a rip off of the Elvis image, to say the least, but it works well. One really hilarious bit in the film, not really a spoiler, is when he is criticised for being under age..... yet the guy playing him is
Scott
Gone girl for tonights viewing. I really don't understand the hype with this film. IMDB rating is very high, and yet I felt totally let down by the whole thing. For a start the movie drags onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, it could easily have been cut in half without any of the, very thin, plot being missed out. It's a fairly clever movie, I'll give it that, but it's by no means a masterpiece.I would quite happily rewind the last 2.5 hours and watch something else if I could. The ending is just bizarre IMO. listy
Should of given the Jack Reacher role to him, would've been more credible. Unless you've read the books, in which case, only his size makes it credible. I do agree that Tom Cruise, although a great actor, didn't (physically) fill the Jack Reacher role for me. He's meant to be 6'7" or so and built like a brick **** house. Not 5'6" tall.
Scott
The Interview - Sony made a wise move pulling this. Absolutely dire, don't even waste the 2 hours watching this dross. It has some funny moments, but you really need to enjoy completely stupid humour for it to appeal. It's just ridiculous from start to finish. Just watched this with the wife, nearly switched if off after 20 mins as we thought it utterly dog poop. Especially after reading the comments you posted Scott, I mentioned it. Then it actually didn't turned out too bad, quite a few twists and it got me shouting at TV a few times. Actually found it a little disturbing, not as much as the wife as she was freaked out by it! Totally agree the ending was very bizzare and without giving the plot away, I'd need to be in a different country.
Scott
Watched The Judge yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't know anything about the movie at all but Robert Duvall is in it, and that was enough for me. High end ruthless lawyer has to go home to his estranged family after his Mother dies. His Father is a well respected Judge in the community but the 2 of them do not get on at all. Tragic family past and some poor decisions meant that they never really understood each other. From reading the above you would expect the hot soup for the soul type movie, it's not. It's down to earth and at times very gritty. Duvall is, as always, brilliant and although Downey Jr does his usual eccentric over-acting.... he's brilliant for the part. Highly recommended. IMDB score of 7.6 which is right on the money IMO. I wouldn't advise checking it out though, gives away a little too much of the plot IMO.
Scott
Watched The Drop last night. Not by any means brilliant but a really enjoyable watch regardless. Very good performance by Tom Hardy, although his character was slightly confusing throughout. Not too much of a plot to discuss, fairly straight forward. Pub is used for money drop offs for a mob. The owner used to be a bit of a boss himself till he was taken over by the current outfit, making him a bit of a spare wheel. Hardy's character Bob was his right hand man, now he just tends bar. Scott
The Replacements is tonights viewing. Actually forgot all about this film as it's years since I've seen it. Brilliant feel good American Football flick, typical of the genre. Decent casting with some brilliant comedy throughout. Can't imagine anyone not liking it Pro footballers strike so the owner decides to go out and get some cheap replacements. The replacements start off terrible but manage to become a team. You could probably write it yourself now
