Wide arch wheel question

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all.

I am soon to be fitting Veilside overfenders front and back, with the rears inparticular increasing the width by about 50-60mm.

I am relatively clued up on wheels, stud patterns centre bore etc, but what do I need to be searching for when looking for that extra width?

Or could I run it with spacers?? (heard bad things about those with bearings though).

Cheers

Buy a wider wheel :-) lol.

Don't want to tell you how to suck eggs, but...

If you have a 9.5" wide wheel with say 30 offset now (can be used no arch work)

Then get a 12" with with same offset. The wheel 1.25" further out AND in the arch

Get a 12" with 20 offset and it'll be 10mm out more than the previous 12" mentioned.

And so on.

As re spacers, I'd rather not use them, but if I had too, I'd buy the best I could.

As a rough guide front 9" +35 and rear 10" +35 will fit almost flush under the stock arches. So if you have 50mm wider arches and keep the same width wheels you would need the following offsets, 9" -15 and 10" -15, which is basically offset +35 - 50mm.

If you want different width wheels then use this offset calculator to work out the required offset.

Oh don't quite me on the width of wheel ... I was just saying 12 as I'm sure that's what a lot of the wide arch guys have.

Pm kaan, or ibrar, think they have wide arch cars.

Ibrars that red one, black roof i think, bottom as wide as a truck - awesome :-)

Aha!

So Kaan yours are 12" AND a 20mm spacer?

Yep the rears are 12" et20 with a 20mm spacer. Which I think works out 12" et0 and no spacer.

Not sure on fronts but they're not that much wider 15-20mm maybe.

If I win some money/a long lost rich relative dies I'll be in touch.

Don't get me wrong yours are beautiful, I just think I've not thought this through properly haha.

265 existing on the rears so a high quality set of 40-50mm spacers should do it.

Haha, thanks. Wheels do cost a fair bit hence why alot of people chuck spacers behind their existing wheel.

What's the width and offset of your current wheel?
