Drinking my last beer until Xmas!

I've decided I need to lose weight and get fit. Too much beer, too many crisps, too much crappy food and not enough exercise.

Anyways, I'm starting tomorrow and I'm mid-way through my last beer until Xmas.

Just thought I'd share with the group. Cheers.

Sadly I'm not drunk. To be really honest I think im ready to get fit. I do Kendo and lately I've been embaressed to go because I get so out of breath that finishing the class on a Friday pretty much does me for the weekend. Also, carrying extra weight means I can't move quickly enough.

More worryingly, my girlfriend says my breathing while I'm asleep seem really laboured and I often seem to stop breathing! Worried? Too f**king right.

for me... it was diffrent.... my lil brother (16) has a perfect 6pac.... and he trains (cycling, running, weights) every day of the week... and being the depreseed eeeediat i use to be.. he encouraged me to join in... been around 2 months (and still going strong) and honestly... i have never felt or looked this good!!! its always a really good idea to get a training buddy... as some day's you'll feel like "oh not again".. and you'll just stop doing it... one thing i always do (and am glad i did) was take a picture every monday after training... that way you have a very good comparison ;)

The whole body fat test thing is a crock. I read an article which highlighted the fact that Brad Pitt, at his leanest filming Fight Club, was actually obese according to his BMI score.

Oh yeah, and skinny minny Gwyneth Paltrow is fat according to BMI.

you can get digital scales where you put in your height and it weighs you then tells you your bodyfat. think last time i wen on i was 25% body fat.arms n legs skinny, jast a bit in middle i need to lose.

we have some scales at work that we weigh our work on.they go up to 1500kg

im normally about 87kg or less.been down to about 84kg would like to get a 79kg.

Me too.. Just started doing the whole gym thing.. quit smoking and cut down on the pints.. been running 5k twice a week, lifting weights and started doing this 'Spin' thing (which is a killer!).. lost two stone in the last two months..!

I can't believe how soon you can get your fitness together - when I started I couldn't run for more than a couple of minutes without stopping, now I can go for half an hour!

I thought the BMI thing was that gizmo you hold and it puts a charge through your arms and times the speed it takes or something..? doesn't take into account your gut though!
