remove "fender part" of side skirt

hello. in the process of fitting a new bodykit on the supra, and a thought appeard. to remove the bit that goes along the front fender upwards, to make it look more "clean"

 

but if you remove that part you allso remove the part that you screw into, im sure im not the first to do this, so how did you guys do or how would you do it?

 

heres a bad pic i have, cant see the part i mean so well but i think you know what i mean.

I guess if you use self tapping screws, you can fix it anywhere you want. Or bond them on.

do you think only bonding them on will be sufficent ( but if i cut the skirt as described, there will only be room for one screw in the front arch
