Chris Wilson Posted May 8, 2014 Share Posted May 8, 2014 It looks like an old diesel engine turbo off a (big) truck engine, and as such is totally unsuitable for a performance petrol engine. Apart from looking far too big it won't be designed for the exhaust gas temperatures a tuned petrol engine will have. Considereing the price of a good manifold, pipework, mappable ecu, mapping, engine rebuild, blah blah, you should be choosing the *correct* turbo for your needs, not a *cheap* turbo. IMHO.... The fact the Americans use them would be enough to send me running, to be honest Diesel engine turbos are NOT the same as petrol engine turbos. Apart from "it's the wrong size, for the wrong fuel, it's not new, it's old tech, you'll spend thousands trying to make it work even badly and it'll probably explode and trash your engine, if not it'll just be a dog to drive", what more do you need here to unconvince you? Noz Posted May 9, 2014 Share Posted May 9, 2014 If you want a cheap turbo at least buy something that's tried and tested with the NA-t crew. Otherwise buy a second hand precision unit. Fly is breaking his NA-t setup. If you want a cheap turbo maybe consider his T61. Otherwise keep an eye out for a second hand unit on here Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
