Guest nikp
Hi Guys - new to the forum. I'm considering in the near future purchasing a mk4 Supra. I've had Jap in the past before; a Mazda RX-7 and an Evo 8. Both tuned to around 400bhp. Really enjoyed the RX-7, a real drivers car. The Evo was fun, but a bit 'obvious' if you get my drift. Looking forward to learning more about Supras on here. As a starter for 10 I will submit the following question: I understand UK spec Supras are a rarity and don't come up often. Other than insurance cost (The RX-7 was an import and am used to the cost: am old too (38) so it wasn't awful at any rate) and difference in light material (plastic and glass) and brake sizes, are there any differences between a UK and JDM Supra? I'd be looking to go single turbo too, lowered and probably upgraded brakes: any advice? (I am hoping to start from a twin turbo model though, as it's fun know I chose - and maybe did the work too - the parts myself) Nik (ex RX-7 owner )
Guest nikp
Ok, i have have found the PDF guide to the Supra. Very useful and handy. So - don't answer the question about model differences: I get it

There's lots of knowledgeable people here that can help if you have questions you can't find answers to though.

Abz
Welcome to the club, Insurance is cheap on the Supra's if you are over 25 regardless if it is a UK or Import. Few chaps same age as yourself are getting quotes under £200 PA for insurance. Look for the cleanest example you can find, come along to a local meet to you and get a closer look around. If you ask nicely I am sure someone will be more than happy to take you out for a spin.
