Aristo 2jzgte 4runner not revving past 3k PLEASE HELP

Hi guys. this is my first posting.

I swapped a 2jzgte from an aristo into my 1986 4runner. Its all stock motor and auto transmission. it starts right up and sounds great. the only problem is it hits a rev limit at 3k whether in neutral or in all gears. up until the 3k it runs great.

things i have checked,

transmission switch is getting power and sending the right signals to the ecu,

timing belt is dead on the marks line up like they should.

no loose vacuum hoses or plugs,

MAF that came with the engine is 22204-22010.

maf is mounted in a 3in. I.D. diameter tube. the angled side toward the engine. IM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE RIGHT ORIENTATION BUT IT RUNS THE SAME EITHER WAY.

Everything I have read points to these but im not sure where to start since they all seem fine.

The MAF doesnt look like most in pictures online, it almost seems like the jdm supplier gave me the wrong one. can anyone confirm the right maf number for an Aristo ecu# 89661-3A470. I think this is my problem but not sure.

Also I removed the oil pressure sender on the oil filter housing to run an aftermarket gauge, and my power steering pump has the wires ripped off the plug but im not sure if that would cause this.

Im pretty sure its the MAF but i really am not an expert and this was my first major swap like this. any help would be greatly apreciated.

yes it is vvti. my apologies for not mentioning it. I have also heard the one i have can be re pinned to be made to work, any ideas on that? i would rather not and source the right one. the supplier made the mistake any chance you think they will make it right even though i purchased the engine in december?

well i came up with 22204-46010 being the correct part number for the MAF that I need.

can anyone confirm this?

it seems like the right one from my research but im not an expert and what better place to ask than here. I appreciate any input.

well the maf came in a day early, i fabbed a tube for it and put it on. I must say i wasnt expecting the violent acceleration. I think im geared a little too low, 4.88-1, but im not going to be going 100 mph in an old truck. Anyone know what the ratio is in the supra? if i can find that out i can calculate the tire size with the gears and see how far off i am.

I want to say Thanks for the help, you guys are awesome. Ill finish posting the project pictures on photobucket when i get a chance. tell me what you think criticism is expected and totally fine, im always willing to improve something i overlooked.

i didnt keep 4wd due to not finding the right parts. No adapter plates just a stock aristo swap.

If a guy could source a mechanical tcase that came behind the a340f and swap the output shafts it would all bolt together except you would have to get creative for the speed sensor.

next december im going to do a 5 speed swap and put r154 guts inside a r150 with the r150 output shaft. I did my build with this in mind and there is room to bolt it all back in.

the swap took a month and a half working on it on the weekends and 4 days in the beginning of april. it was not easy, i am not the richest guy so most of the stuff i could fab i did instead of buying it. the hardest part was making the dang thing fit in there, and once it did there was no room for a radiator. I mounted it on the other side of the core support and trimmed the crap out of the back of the grill. the easiest part was the wiring, that took one day to wire it and fire for the first time, the next day was spent soldering and shrink tubing all of the wiring connections.
